| The
rules of cricket shall apply, given that:
1. Each
innings will consist of five 6-ball overs. Each member of the
fielding side shall bowl one over- except the wicket-keeper who
shall be nominated before each game and who must wear gloves (for
U15s only) until each ball is delivered. Keepers are not allowed to
stand more them 15m behind the stumps. Bowling will be done from one
side only.
2. Runs
and extras are scored in accordance with the laws of cricket except
that:
- wides count 2 runs and an extra ball must be bowled.
- No-balls count for 2 runs plus runs scored of the bat and an extra
ball must be bowled.
3. A
batsman must retire when he reaches on 31 for U15s and 21 for U11s
– but not before. He will retire credited with the score that his
last hit gives him – this may be more then 31 or 21. Retired
batsman may return to continue their innings (in original batting
order) if one of the last batting pair is out.
4.
"Last man stand" – at the fall of the fifth wicket the
dismissed batsman will remain at the crease as a runner. Either
player may be run out to cause the sixth dismissal.
5. If a
player is injured during the course of a game, a substitute will be
allowed. The substitute may only field and not bat, bowl or keep
wicket , unless required by the opposition (see 6).
6. In
the event of a bowler being unable, through injury, to complete his
over, the remaining balls will be bowled by any player (including
the wicket-keeper or the substitute) nominated by the opposition
captain.
7. The
team with the most runs after 5 overs wins. If there is a tie then
the team that has lost the fewest wickets wins, if a tie still
exists, then the team scoring most runs excluding extras wins. If a
tie still exists then the team scoring most sixes, then fours wins.
Thereafter, a toss of a coin.
8. The
"Top Aggregate Loser" to progress to the U15 semi final
will be the team that has the highest
"runs-scored-divided-by-wicket lost" total from the two
group matches. If a tie exist the team which scored the most sixes,
then fours will progress. As a final result a coin will be tossed.
9.
Teams are required to report to the "Tournament Office"
(See Map) at the time scheduled for the previous game. Teams should
be ready to take field as soon as the previous game ends.
10.
Batting teams are required to provide the umpires and scorers.
Scoresheets and match balls will be available at the
"Tournament Office". Teams are asked to return the match
balls and completed scoresheets to the "Tournament Office"
at the end of their match.
11. U15
Teams are requested to bring old balls "in good condition"
and pass it to the "Tournament Office". Tapeballs for U11
matches will be available at the "Tournament Office"
12.
Interpretation of the rules is at the sole discretion of the
organizers.
