Format:
Pairs Cricket with over arm or under arm bowling
Rules:
§
8-a-side
matches with 8 overs per side
§
Batting
side bats in pairs with each pair facing two overs
§
All
fielders must bowl (overarm or underarm) one over each.
§
Two
runs for a wide and an extra ball will be bowled.
§
Two
runs for no ball (Ball pitched over waist height), extra ball to be
bowled
§
If
ball bounces more than twice no-ball will be called and two runs
would be added to the batting sides total.
§
If
the ball is hit out of the playing area 6 runs would be given to the
batting side.
§
Players
must be studying in P4-P6 and under the age of 13 (as at 1st
September 2000)
League
Format
l
Schools/teams
will be divided into geographical divisions (e.g. Kowloon Division,
Island Division) so that distance to travel for matches is not too
great
l
There
will be a separate competition for each division. Each division will
have a Division Champion and Runner up.
l
The
champion team and the runner up team will be invited to participate
in the Playground League Champions Knockout Day which
will have eight school teams competing in a knockout competition to
decide the overall champion.
l
All
presentations for schools and the Division Championships will be
held on the Champions Knockout Day
Note:
- Schools
are required to contact their opposing teams and the division
managers to co-ordinate playing the match. The emphasis is on
home team to contact the away team and the Division Manager.
Requirement
from schools
l
Minimum
one teacher to be in charge of the school team and training and
undertake the HKCA Level 1 Course
l
School
must have a basketball court sized area to play games.
Trophies/Awards
l
All
players competing in the Playground League will receive a
certificate of recognition.
l
All
schools participating in the Playground League will receive a
souvenir from HKCA
l
Medals
will be presented to all players competing in the division finals
and the knockout finals.
l
Trophies
will be presented to all Division Champion Teams as well as the
Knockout Champion
