2002-2003 Season - Junior League Rules

1. General

Except as specified in the playing conditions, the laws of Cricket 2002 will apply.

2. Fixtures

The scheduled fixture and normal starting time will be printed on our HKCA crick-kid web site or circulated by HKCA office during the season.

3. Ground Weather and Light

The umpires appointed by HKCA shall be sole judges of the fitness of the ground, weather and light for play.

4. Disputes

The umpires appointed by HKCA shall determine all disputes during a match, if they disagree the existing state of affairs shall continue. Ruling given by JLC on any disputes brought before them shall be final.

5. Registrations and Eligibility

Prior to the start of the league season, each team is require to register a minimum of 11 players and pay the requisite individual membership and team fees. The Names and address of the player to be registered must be submitted at this time. In sense of not paying team registration fees, consideration will be given to removing the team from League. Any matches played prior to payment of the membership fee may be declared null and avoid. The JLC may award full points to the non-offending team. Playing a non-registered player may result in deduction of league point. The JLC shall be the final authority.

6. Transfer of players

All players shall not, without the prior permission of the JLC, play for more then one team in the same competition. Application for transfer must be submitted in writing to the chairman of the JLC at least 72 hours before the transfer is required to take effect. Player can’t be transfer after playing three matches with current team.

7. Match Balls

Each team shall supply HKCA approved ball for each innings, only one new ball shall be used in each innings. Only balls sporting the HKCA logo or mark will be permitted to be use.

8. Match result cards

A match result card for each match shall be submitted to HKCA office by the winning team, the result card can be send by Fax: 25778486.

9. Points

Competition points will be awarded as follows.

  • Walkover = 2 points for walkover
  • Win = 2 points for win
  • Loss = 0 point for loss
  • Tie = 1 point for each side
  • No Result = 1 point to each.

10. Uniform

White clothing and sports shoes must be worn by players on the field, umpires will ask player to leave if he is wearing unusually cloths.

11. Equipment

Teams must bring their own equipments.

12. Age Eligibility.

  • U-11 All those born on or after 1st January 1991
  • U-13 All those born on or after 1st January 1989
  • U-15 All those born on or after 1st January 1987
  • U-17 All those born on or after 1st January 1985
  • U-19 All those born on or after 1st January 1983

13. Hours of play

8:00am –10:00am total two hours

14. Period of Play

  • U-11 16overs / innings 1HR
  • U_13 16overs / innings 1HR
  • U_15 16overs / innings 1HR
  • U-17 16overs / innings 1HR
  • U-19 16overs / innings 1HR

15. Tie

If a tie exists on point’s table after the round robin matches, the team has batter Net Run Rate will qualify for the knockout matches. There will be no replay matches.

16. League Champions

At the conclusion of the season, if the top teams have the same number of points, the following will be the order of precedence for deciding the league champions:

  1. Team with most outright wins
  2. Team with fewest lost matches should all the above are identical, then the championship will be shared.

17. Zonal Cricket

Zone cricket has been introduced this year for the U15 Junior League, in order to improve and develop the batsman’s ability to hit the ball in front of the wicket with better technique.

The zone will be marked from the bowlers end from long on to long off up to 70M, when ever the batsman strike the ball within the zone the score will be doubled (i.e. if the batsman scored 2 runs the score will be 4) the umpire will be the judge as soon as the ball has been hit in the zone, He will signal the scores as soon as the batsman completed the runs.
