Secondary Schools League Division 1-Girls Rules & Playing Condition

The following are the specific playing conditions for the 2008-09 HKSCA Girls League.

  1.  8-a-side, with substitutes allowed in case of injury but substitutes cannot bat or bowl.
  2.  20 overs per innings. Red rubber balls with seam (incradi balls) will be used in all matches.
  3. A batsman must retire after the scoring shot when his total reaches 30 runs but he may bat again when six of his team players are out or retired.  Retired batsmen return to the crease in the order in which they retired. Unlike Sixes cricket the last remaining batsman cannot bat with a runner and an innings is over when one of the final pair of batsmen is dismissed. .
  4. Wooden bats are compulsory & the use of protectors is encouraged.
  5. It is compulsory for teams to be accompanied and supervised by an adult and/or a team coach.
  6. Maximum 4 overs per bowler.
  7.  Teams will bowl from one end only.
  8. Elegibility born on or after 01.01.1989.
  9. 2 runs will be added to the total of the batting side in the case of wides plus runs scored from byes No extra ball will be bowled.
  10. In the case of a “No-ball” 2 runs will be added to the total plus any runs scored off the bat or byes etc. No extra ball will be bowled.  No balls include a full toss which reaches the batsman above his waist and also balls which bounce more than once before reaching the batsman.
  11. Score sheets must be faxed, by the winning team representative or results send to Tabarak Dar by e-mail at dar@crick-kid.com
  12. White cricket clothing must be worn by players on the field at all times. Teams can wear school color uniforms.
  13.  Except as specified in the above playing conditions the general rules and laws of cricket apply.

Points System

  • Walkover: 25 points
  • Win; 10 points +batting & bowling points
  • Loss: Batting & Bowling points only
  • Tie: 8 points + batting & bowling points
  • No Result: 15 point each.

Batting & Bowling points:

  • Batting : Every 10 runs scored one (1) point Maximum 8 points, i.e. one batting point for reaching each 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 runs,
  • Bowling : One (1) point for each wicket, & Maximum 7 points
